World Heritage Logo and Brand
The Wadden Sea World Heritage Logo has been designed to communicate the property consistently and as one trans-boundary entity.
The logo can only be used for non-commercial information and awareness raising activities not directly related to commercial products (such as general information about the World Heritage).
Nothing is more important than the correct and consistent use of the logo and for this reason the trademark should not be altered in any way. Please do not redraw, recolour, reorder, distort or skew any elements of the logos.
Permission to use the World Heritage Logo must be requested in advance.
Non-commercial use
The logo can only be used in an editorial context to show support for and inform about the Wadden Sea World Heritage:
- In a newspaper or magazine article about the Wadden Sea World Heritage,
- In a text or book chapter dealing with the Wadden Sea World Heritage (but not to promote the text or book itself),
- On a blog or website for descriptive purposes,
- In a non-commercial presentation of the Wadden Sea World Heritage.
Non-commercial use of any Wadden Sea World Heritage Logo by a stakeholder, or as part of a non-commercial information, generally does not require payment of royalties. However, permission to use the Logo must be requested in advance.
Requests to use the World Heritage Logo or trademark for non-commercial purposes should be submitted to the Common Wadden Sea Secretariat via email to info@waddensea-worldheritage.org. Your request will be forwarded to the state party representatives for review.

Commercial use / brand licensing agreement
Use of the Wadden Sea World Heritage Logo / trademark in connection with any commercial or for-profit purpose requires a license agreement.
If you want to use any Wadden Sea World Heritage trademark in this way, you should contact the Common Wadden Sea Secretariat (CWSS), at the following address:
